OCTOBER 10, 2024
Meet our two incredible new full-time staff members who joined the Grassroots Health team in August/September 2024. Each brings unique passions, experiences, and expertise that go beyond words. Instead of summarizing their talents in a few paragraphs, we invite you to watch our exclusive video interviews, where they share their journeys, insights, and excitement for the work ahead. Get to know the newest faces behind our mission of advancing health equity!
We’re excited to welcome Megan Patrick, aka Megalodon, as our new Senior Operations Coordinator. Megan is no stranger to Grassroots Health—during her time as a GW lacrosse player, she was known for her outstanding facilitation, competitiveness, and unwavering commitment to volunteering in programs. Fellow alums of her generation may remember some feisty “Time to Climb” games with Megalodon. After pursuing graduate studies and working at USC, Megan has rejoined us to streamline operations, finance, HR, and more. Jane Wallis adds,“Meg is a true problem-solver. She’s constantly finding ways to make things more efficient and has an unparalleled passion for Grassroots Health. Her drive, dedication, and institutional knowledge make her an invaluable asset as we continue building a sustainable future.”
We’re also thrilled to introduce Cara Geschu, aka Godzilla, as our new Evaluation Manager. With a Master’s in Public Health from GW and experience working in several local nonprofits, Cara is a powerhouse addition to the Grassroots Health team. Executive Director Jane Wallis says, “Cara’s passion for evaluation isn’t just about crunching numbers or survey design—she’s deeply committed to improving health outcomes in our community. From Day 1, she’s been ready to dive into projects, thinking critically about the needs of our community, and she brings the perfect balance of intellect and goofiness to our team. We’re so lucky to have her!”
We couldn’t be more excited to have these talented individuals on board!
