Grassroots is a charity partner of the 2019 Marine Corps Marathon! We are thrilled to be able to host a team of runners (of all levels) who are looking to finish their first marathon, get a PR, or shoot for a spot on the podium — all are welcome.
Runners will be required to raise $500 as part of their participation on Team Grassroots. Runners will receive official team gear, training tips, and fundraising tips and support. Top fundraisers will receive additional perks.
All runners who have raised $500 by June will be sent a registration code for the Marine Corps Marathon. Once they receive their unique registration code, runners will be required to register and pay their registration fee directly with the Marine Corps Marathon.
All funds raised will directly support the implementation of Grassroots’s programs — which train local NCAA athletes as volunteer health educators to deliver eight-week youth empowerment programs in Washington, DC middle schools.
