How long have you been involved with Grassroots?
I have been a Grassroots coach since fall semester of my freshman year.
Why did you choose to join Grassroots?
I joined Grassroots to make a difference in the community I live in. One of my teammates told me about Grassroots, and the more I learned about it, the more I wanted to be involved. I want to be a part of the fight against the HIV and AIDS epidemic in Washington, DC. I see the difference Grassroots makes and seeing the impact we have keeps me going every week.
How has Grassroots prepared you for your future goals?
Grassroots led me to my passion. My work with Grassroots has shown me that I want to be actively involved in making a difference in my community and the world. Grassroots has also taught me that education can play a major role in social change. It has prepared me by providing me with a base knowledge of how to attack a problem and make an impact that leads to change.
What do you want to do after college?
I want to work with marine life conservation saving sea turtles and sharks.
