Grassroots is partnering with Gilead Sciences, The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, and the George Preston Marshall Foundation in 2017 to pilot some exciting new programming! TGP prides itself on providing innovative, compelling HIV- and sexual health-related programming for DC youth. With funding from these partners, we will be able to expand our impact even more in 2017!
We are currently planning a parent workshop, which will bring our TGP students and their parents together to discuss issues covered in our programs. We believe that parent engagement will improve student outcomes, and will foster healthy dialogue between our students and their parents about sexual health for years to come.
We are also planning a linkage-to-care event for our students, their parents, and their communities. This event will host a number of service providers that offer everything from HIV tests to counseling. Our aim is to connect our students and their community members to those offering various health care services, in order to promote the overall wellbeing of our DC community.
We want to say a huge thank you to Gilead, the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, and the George Preston Marshall Foundation for their support in this important work!
Stay tuned for updates on how planning for these programs is going!
