Michael Wood
GW, Diving

Michael Wood is an environmental and sustainability science major and geographic information systems minor at The George Washington University and plans on attending graduate school next year for his master’s in public health. He is a third-year diver on the swimming and diving team from Rochester, NY, and has been with Grassroots for 4 semesters prior as a volunteer. He looks forward to continuing to work with the youth of DC and helping carry out Grassroots’ mission of health equity, strengthening community and achieving impact.

Michael got his nickname, very excitingly, from his last name, Wood. In his free time, he likes to explore DC with friends, specifically via e-bike and metro, to try all the coffee shops DC has to offer. He found a love for diving after quitting gymnastics to which his sister, who would go on to be a division 1 swimmer, suggested that he try diving, and the rest is history!
