Ian Wheeler

Site Coordinator

Ian Wheeler (he/him) is a Howard University football player and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. He plans to attend medical school and wants to be a psychiatrist as his final career goal. He first started Grassroots Health in 2022 and has volunteered consistently, mastering the three program curricula (mental, sexual, and nutritional health) and then becoming a Head Coach and Training Fellow. He was part of the cohort that traveled to Philadelphia to recruit and train athletes as a part of the Grassroots expansion. Grassroots Health has a special spot in Ian’s heart and he hopes to continue his time here as long as he can.

Ian is speed. But because there was a Wheels (Andrea Fievre’s Grassroots Health nickname) before him, he’s the Lil to her Big. You can catch him using all of his wheels on Saturdays playing football or running away from kids in sharks and minnows. When he’s not running, Ian is baking or cooking. His favorite thing to make is cinnamon rolls, and every time he makes them, they’re a crowd favorite.
