Dr. Tamara A. Henry is a public health professional who comes from a diverse background ranging from foreign and domestic consulting services to state and local government programming, to academia. Dr. Henry spent over a decade working in state (NJ) and local government (Washington, DC) providing grantees with technical assistance as well as addressing health disparities and monitoring and evaluating health promotion programs in underserved populations. Currently, she is a Teaching Associate Professor at the Milken Institute School of Public Health [Prevention and Community Health] at The George Washington University, where she teaches several courses to undergraduate and graduate students. To date, she has received 2 awards from GW for Excellence in Teaching Undergraduate Public Health. In addition, she has spent the past 20 years working with HIV/AIDS service organizations from Capetown, South Africa to Washington, DC. Moreover, she partners several with community-serving organizations across the United States to teach about equity in the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging landscape. Dr. Henry received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Howard University in Washington, DC, and her Doctorate in Health Education from Teacher’s College at Columbia University in New York, NY.
