Evaluation Intern

Dayle (she/her) is an Evaluation Intern at Grassroots Health for the Summer of 2026 and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in Maternal, Child, and Family Health at UNC Chapel Hill. This summer, Dayle is helping the evaluation team with data cleaning, analysis, and writing a white paper about Grassroots Health.

Dayle swam for three years as an undergrad at the University of Vermont, where she majored in anthropology and religion. Practicing as a multi-sport athlete, she joined the rowing team for the first year of her master’s program at UNC. She is passionate about the protective factors sports can provide to kids and is excited to learn about athletics’ role in prevention and education through GRH this summer.

Dayle gets her Grassroots nickname, “Birdy,” from her love of hummingbirds and their habit of returning to the same nesting grounds every year. Birdy is a Florida native, and the state will always hold a special place in her heart. One of her favorite memories is eating Sunday breakfast with her family and watching the hummingbirds in the backyard. She has tattoos of both the house she grew up in and (of course) a hummingbird!
