Annslee is a summer intern and an upcoming senior attending Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She double majors in psychology and business, is on the women’s lacrosse team, and holds a passion for social justice and working with children. She was drawn to Grassroots Health because it combines all of her interests and aligns with her goals of improving children’s lives and well-being. Her role as an intern falls under the Operations/Human Resources team, and she predominantly works with Megan. She will focus on budget formatting, improving collaboration between teams, and learning how nonprofit organizations operate.
Despite Annslee’s Nashville, Tennessee, origins, she despises country music. She loves using the word “y’all” and is a die-hard Tennessee Volunteers sports fan. She dabbles in some photography (that’s how she got her nickname, “Snapshot”), indulges in driving to Taco Bell with friends, takes pleasure in watching anime with her brother and Love Island (the USA version) (and alone), and revels in sleeping.
Unfortunately, Snapshot is gluten- and lactose-intolerant, but she does not let it stop her from requesting chocolate milk and munching on gluten-free pizza whenever she has the chance.
Snapshot also has an affinity for tattoos, having two connected to her friends and family, and four from four different countries. Studying abroad in Rome, Italy, allowed her to get a tattoo in London, England; Athens, Greece; Budapest, Hungary; and Rome, Italy (untattooed: Madrid, Spain). Ask her to speak about her tattoos or anything, and you will get her rambling for an hour straight.
