Alayah Hightower aka Lay Lay is from Pg County,MD. She goes to Howard University where she played on the soccer and lacrosse team. She is getting her third and final degree in Masters of Science in Finance but has previously finished her BS in Chemical Engineering and her MBA.  She has been apart of Grassroots Health since 2018 where she has grown into the role training fellow. To add on to her work in the community, she also works for a non-profit called Athletes for Hope where she connects Howard University student athletes to different service events in the area. Alayah’s favorite thing about Grassroots is making friends from other universities and making connections with the middle schoolers through teaching.

Alayah Hightower, a.k.a. “Lay Lay,” is from PG County, Maryland. She goes to Howard University, where she was a two-sport Division I athlete on both the soccer and lacrosse teams. She is getting her third and final degree, a Masters of Science in Finance. She previously finished her BS in Chemical Engineering and her MBA.  Alayah has been part of Grassroots Health since 2018, and she has grown into the role Training Fellow. She also works for a non-profit called Athletes for Hope, where she connects Howard University student-athletes to different service events in the DC area. Alayah’s favorite things about Grassroots Health are making connections with the middle schoolers through teaching, and making friends with athletes from other universities.
