Alana Beasley
GW, Soccer

Alana Beasley (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate student at George Washington University, studying a multitude of things including Journalism and Mass Communication, Psychology, Music, and Human Services and Social Justice. She grew up in Northern Virginia and went to a Center for Fine and Performing Arts for high school, obtaining an advanced diploma in Creative Writing as a student-athlete. She has served as a Grassroots Health coach since 2022, mentoring DC youth on health education topics, her favorite being mental health. Alana is a member of the George Washington University Women’s Soccer team and GW’s Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service where she serves as a volunteer creative writing tutor. Upon completion of her degree, she doesn’t have any explicit professional dreams but hopes to leverage her formal education and DC community service experience to make a difference.

Llama considers herself a mother, and is not accepting any disputes at this time, as she has 4 younger siblings she practically raised. When she gets a day to herself and is not attempting to keep her children alive or attending one of their games (yes, they all play soccer because of her ;)), you’ll probably find her watching New Girl for the 1826396585th time, writing, reading, or constructing a playlist for an unnecessarily specific scenario (she will never be caught unprepared on aux). She considers herself the only person on earth capable of giving a good recommendation and will take it personally if you ask anyone else for a song, show, or book they’d like (she’s got you, trust). There are 4 things Llama would do virtually anything for:

  1. a good view
  2. a new Frank Ocean album
  3. a One Direction reunion tour/album
  4. to build muscle as easily as a man.

Llama enjoys using her funny, chill, and spontaneous personality to connect with new people, especially the Grassroots students.
