Grassroots Fam, New TGP Program, Is Off to a Great Start!

TGP is excited to report the successful completion of our first parent component to our comprehensive sexual programming. Grassroots Fam was a two-session program that was conducted for the parents and caregivers of one our current Fall 2017 6th grade programs. Grassroots Fam is designed to provide a safe space for parents and caregivers to discuss sexual health topics and practice communicating about such issues with their children. The following is a brief summary report of the program and the findings of our pre/post program survey that measured sexual health knowledge and communication history with their children.

After just two weeks, both our post-program surveys and conversations with our parents/caregivers showed an increase in discussions with their children about sexual health topics. We are so excited about this improvement!
