About a month has passed since our senior coaches graduated college! They played a huge role in shaping our organization over the past few years, and the importance of their hard work, commitment, and enthusiasm to the success of TGP cannot be overstated.
Each of the seniors featured in this post took on a leadership position in the organization in addition to their role as a coach in our middle school programs because they were passionate about making a difference in their community. They managed to devote enormous amounts of time and effort to their work with Grassroots on top of the hours they dedicated to excelling in their academic and athletic endeavors. We appreciate their immense contributions to TGP, and we already miss having them around!
This is a very exciting time for our incredible graduates, and we can’t wait to see what they do next.

Plans After College: Work in the corporate office of Delta Dental North Carolina.
Favorite TGP Memory: Do I have to pick just one? Leadership meetings always empowered me knowing that we were generating change and affecting lives as student-athletes. We worked hard and got it done positively. Without TGP I would have never had the opportunity to meet amazing athletes/mentors/friends. I was blessed with the opportunity to go to the white house for the millennial outreach summit and I will forever hold that day in my heart; it’s all because of TGP’s endless opportunities.

Plans After College: Princeton in Africa Fellowship – Capacity Building Fellow with Integrate Health in Kara, Togo.
Favorite TGP Memory: I’ve had so many incredible memories with TGP that I could fill up an entire book! That being said, the one that influenced my time the most was our Leadership Academy trip to South Africa the summer after my freshman year. During our two week trip, we visited Grassroot Soccer, which is where a lot of Tyler’s inspiration for TGP came from, and it really opened my eyes to the impact that our work has on a global scale. That trip motivated me to pursue an academic and career path towards International Development and Public Health and I’m so excited to be heading back to the continent to do similar work in Togo next year, all thanks to the experiences and inspiring people I’ve worked with over the years through TGP!
Major: Health Management
Plans after college: General Management Development Rotational Program at Aetna and then attend law school.
Favorite TGP Memory: Being apart of TGP was a memory within itself! I have had so many amazing memories with not only staff members, the leadership team, other athletes, but also the kids. One specific memory that will always warm my heart and that I will always say was a highlight of my TGP experience was when one of my TGP students recognized me as their role model. This student and I were able to open up to each other, share stories, joke around and exchange dance moves! It has always been my goal during my time with TGP to be able to impact and create close relationships with the students. TGP has given me great fulfillment to help others and I will always appreciate that!

Plans After College: Law school at American (Washington College of Law) and running one more season of cross country.
Favorite TGP Memory: Getting hit in the face with a soccer ball after a session and getting laughed at by 20+ kids, but then a few of them actually making sure I was all good.

Plans After College: Teaching 5th grade through Urban Teachers.
Favorite TGP memory: During my recent semester at capitol hill center city, kids were incredible and the whole semester was a blast!

Plans After College: Working as an EMT while applying to medical school.
Favorite TGP Memory: Answering the many, many awkward questions from the kids in my programs.
