I recently took a trip the Grassroot’s office. Now I’ve been to the office before, but this visit was different from the others.
Usually its pretty much an in and out visit. For this recent trip however, I was in the office helping around for a couple of days. Actually, one of my task was to write this blog. And, when asked to write this blog, without any hesitation I promptly and expeditiously began to day dream and stare around the room. In a strange way it was through this lack of interest in writing a paper in the middle of the summer that I was inspired… to write a BLOG in the middle of the summer.
As you look around the room you see inspirational stories and notes from kids and coaches that makes you want to punch HIV/AIDS in the face. As well as awards and certificates that shows you the impact and accomplishments of Grassroot. However, you’ll see the inspiration, impact, and accomplishments all captured in the numerous photos (NONE of which have me in them but hey that’s a different blog… How Grassroots Lost Its Roots And Boxed Out Da Box) around the office.
The most impressive thing to me however, is the equipment throughout the office. The office is filled with reports, charts, data, surveys, notes, chalkboards, dry eraseboards, and maps all dedicated to the goal of HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
As I sat looking around I didn’t feel like I was in the grassroot’s office, I felt like I was in a modern day HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention BATCAVE.
